I am a person of too many interests. At times I've had trouble reconciling all of my interests, instead creating silos within myself for each, but all of them make me who I am, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Sports: I grew up in Austin, Texas with two older brothers who instilled in me a strong love of sports from a young age. I played competitive soccer, tennis, basketball, volleyball and took dance. As I got older, I also developed an intense passion for football. If you talk sports with me, I can almost guarantee that I'll have passionate feelings about whatever you say.

Fashion: When I was a sophomore in high school, I got sick, and my mom made the mistake of buying me an InStyle magazine. From that point on, I was completely addicted to fashion. My tastes shifted and grew as I learned more and more about personal style. My first real jobs were all in retail. I believe full-heartedly in the power of personal style and the wonderful effects it can have on our sense of self. My own sense of style tends to lean towards the masculine (hence Modern Tomboy), and you will almost never see me in dresses or skirts.

Food: I've always loved food and been very adventurous when it comes to trying new cuisines. However, when I was 16 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder as well as celiac disease. Since then, I've had to avoid gluten and dairy (and I've also avoided eggs, grains, refined sugar and a myriad of other foods off and on). At the moment, I still avoid gluten and dairy (I doubt that will ever change) and I also severely limit my intake of refined sugars. Because of this, you'll find that most of the food I make tends to be pretty healthy and whole-food based.

Entertainment: I majored in Acting at UT - acting was my first passion and will always be the strongest. I have always been fascinated by human connection and storytelling - two major aspects of film/TV/theater. I still act professionally in Austin (agent contact: Legacy Talent) and do improv.

These are just a few of my areas of interest. Maybe they'll expand as I continue building out this website, but for now, I'm trying to stay at least somewhat focused.

Thanks for stopping by!
